"Strut like you Mean It"!!!!!

Sunday, October 25th... What a great time we had at the Kidsfest Hoe Down Friday night!.. The event was held at Conventional Hall and had tons of games, prizes and treats for all the trick or treaters!  We performed for 45 minutes with singing, dancing and twirling.  While there we handed out over 70 Trick or Treat bags with coloring sheets, crayons, candy and other treats.  We also signed up 3 new students on the spot!! At 6pm I helped three other judges to select the Halloween Costume Contest winners.  There were some GREAT costumes including many Strut, USA students.  Our Miss Jessica Collier took the Grand Prize as a Pastry Chef, complete with a 3 tier cake that would open and reveal a secret place for candy!!!  A great time was had by everyone and I think each child left with lots of goodies.
**Congratulations to our Ms Casey Browning Shehi who sang recently for the Opening ceremonies of the annual Aids Walk fundraiser in Atlanta!! Ms Casey stays in high demand for performances at all time and we are so happy that she's part of our Strut, USA family.  (Speaking of family, Ms Casey will be bringing a new star into the world in the next year so CONGRATS!! to her...we know she'll be a wonderful mom!!)
**This week will be lots of fun at the studio with Halloween parties, costumes and lots of treats for our adorable "starz"!!!  We're also ordering our new sweatshirts for parades and our first costumes for our upcoming performing season and recital this week!
Love and blessings to everyone for a great week!!...Mz Lynn

Thursday, October 22nd... What a busy week!!  Saturday, October 17th our dancers, singers and baton twirlers performed for two hours at the Annual Attalla Heritage Day festival.  As always, the crowds were so appreciative and enjoyed our show.  Even though the sun didn't shine and a fall chill was in the air, our performers put the shine on the day!! Many great pictures are up on various FaceBook pages, and we plan on getting some on here asap.  If you missed Heritage Day, please join us on Friday, October 23rd from 4-7 pm at Convention Hall for the Annual Kidsfest Hoedown sponsored by Z93 and Gadsden Parks and Recreation.  We had a great time at this last year.  There are games, prizes and fun for the kids.  There is also a costume contest!
Our groups will perform around 5pm.  So load up the kids and come let them have fun and trick or treat all of the booths.  We'll have some candy and goodies for all of the children as well as some prizes.
**If anyone is planning on going to see the Michael Jackson Movie, "This is It", we are planning on several of our Strut students and families going on Thursday night, October 29th at the 9pm show.  Wear you white glove or any other MJ attire and join us for some fun!  Tickets need to be bought in advance since the movie is only in theatres for two weeks!
**Next week is Halloween week, so all of our starz at Strut, USA can wear their costumes and bring treats to share!!  Goodies and prizes will be there and sisters or brothers can "trick or treat" at the studio during the week also!!
**November brings Thanksgiving and our "Parent Appreciation Day".  More on that later.
**Christmas is just around the corner and Strut, USA will be officially escorting Santa into the Gadsden Mall again!!!!  Date and times will be posted here later.

Monday, October 12th...   Enough with the rain and the flu!!...  We've definitely had enough of both for a while!  We were very disappointed that we were not able to perform to benefit the Marine's Toys for Tots Charity drive due to the rain.   We're looking forward to our annual performance Saturday, October 17th at Attalla Heritage Day.  We will be on the children's stage from 10am - 12 noon.  Come up and join us for all the fun this Saturday!...

Tuesday, August 25th... What a WONDERFUL group of students we have at Strut, USA this year!!!  From our youngest (2 1/2) to our 15 year students, this promises to be one of the best years EVER!!  We added 11 new students just yesterday!!
Most all dance shoes are now in and new batons will be here this week.
***Our DVD's are IN from our 2009 Spring Production...and believe me folks, it was worth the wait!  Using 4 cameras and editing all footage has made this DVD the best EVER!!  What is SO amazing to me, is how GREAT these students really are.  Compared to what many call "recitals", it's just unbelievable.  I'm not kidding.  The proof is right there as to why Strut, USA is the place to be!  Our show is professional and our students are AMAZING.  I'm still beaming from watching it!!  If YOU ordered one, please come on in and pick it up so you can be proud, too!!
***BALLROOM DANCE begins next week, don't forget!...You don't have to have a partner to dance!!!

Tuesday, August 18th...WELCOME NEW STUDENTS!!!  Our 24th season began yesterday with a BANG!...I don't think our staff slowed down from the time our doors opened until about 10pm!  It was wonderful. With the exception of a crowded lobby (great problem to have!) our first day back was a total success.  Our 5:30 KinderDanz class is CLOSED.  This is after dividing it one time already!  We will take names for a waiting list to open another later class.  The Thursday 3:30 still has some openings.  Our Pre-Pointe girls were excited to get those shoes on!!  It was a big day for them and we are very proud of their accomplishments.  Our Mini Petite Starz Team had everyone present and were fired up (as usual!)  We are ordering their first costume already!!  We also had Beginner I and II classes, a beginner baton, Contemporary, Advanced Ballet/Pointe and Sr. Elite Dancers.  WOW!!  It was really an exhausting and wonderful day.
**I really must encourage everyone that if you have not registered for the classes you want....you must give us a call now.  I hate having to tell anyone no, but we will be having to start waiting lists very soon, so give us a call so we can hold your spot.
**Ms Casey Browning Shehi is continuing to add performing vocal students and is just about to have to close her enrollment.  If you have been considering private voice, please let us know.  Ms Doris Day is also available and an amazing vocal coach on our staff.

Monday, August 10th..... What an amazing couple of days we've had!!  Our performance at the Gadsden Mall on Sunday was one of the biggest crowds ever!  Of course, everyone was shopping on "tax free weekend", so we gave them quite a show.  We performed for over an hour with dancers, singers and baton twirlers.  Thanks to Belk's and their staff for being so gracious and complimentary!!!  ...... Miss Morgan Walker has returned from Des Moines, Iowa where she competed in the Jr. OLYMPICS in Baton Twirling!!!  Morgan came home with three beautiful medals including a SILVER!!!  We are SO proud of you Morgan, you represented Strut, USA in style!.......

Tuesday, August 4th... It's hard to believe it's almost "back to school" time again!..The summer has flown by with lots of fun and plenty of hard work at Strut, USA.  Sunday was our Annual Summer Social for our competition teams.  This is a tradition where our team members are divided into their "families" for the upcoming season and something that is very highly anticipated.  After meeting their Strut families, team members and their REAL families all met at Patterson's Water Park where we had it reserved for our group.  A wonderful time was had by all, especially when Mz Lynn tried out the water slides!!  It's so great to see young and old, instructors, students and parents all having such a memorable time together!.....Now, we get ready for another annual event, which is our performance at the Gadsden Mall during the "tax free weekend".  We will be performing at the center fountain at 2pm on Sunday, August 9th.  We hope you'll come out and enjoy our performance while doing your Back to School shopping, tax free!...Next week brings our Registration/Open House on Monday and Tuesday, August 10th and 11th from 4-7 pm.  There will be refreshments and our talented staff waiting to help everyone get registered, sized and ready for our 24th Season!!  We have two classes for our KinderDanz program that has already filled with pre-registration, so please let us know if you can't attend so you do not lose the day and time you would like.    Thanks to everyone for a great summer and we can't wait to see you again soon!!

February 9th, Monday... HOW AMAZING CAN ANYTHING BE???????..... Well, I think this year's "Pulse on Tour" could almost top it!!...  This experience was one of the best EVER in my 23 years at Strut, USA.  PLEASE take time to check out the photos as they are posted (be patient, there are a LOT)... There were over 3,000 people there and WE were always up close and personal with all the action.  Our "Miss Jackson" choreographed by Ms Liara had been selected to be in the showcase again this year.  At the showcase, Ms Liara and I were seated on the front row DIRECTLY behind the panel of ..... Wade Robson, Brian Friedman, Dave Scott and Chris Judd!!!!  OH MY GOODNESS!  Each studio is given 2 reserved seats and ours were the most coveted at the showcase!!!!  Our girls gave a stellar performance and received comments such as "...it is so hard to put that many people on stage looking exactly alike and make it clean and YOU GUYS brought it!!.... "... loved your energy...
now what makes this even MORE personal and special is that there were 23 groups in the showcase and only 11 were even mentioned!  Being remembered and noticed by this panel was breathtaking!..
Moving on... ahhhhh...we had parents of some of our Mini Petites come over to watch and support these girls and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to them!!  It really meant a lot.  There is so much more, but I've got to bounce and get to Southside High School to share some "Pulse Stories" and teach them something!....Stay tuned and don't forget...
