November/December 2009 Newsletter
IMPORTANT DATES!
- November 13th, 2009 - Santa arrives at the Gadsden Mall! - The entire studio is invited to participate as we are one of the "official escorts" again this year to leas Santa into the mall. The parade begins at 4:00pm. We will line up at 3:30 down by Sears and we will end up at the center fountain for group pictures and visit with Santa. Attire will be the same as Christmas Parades. PARENTS MUST STAY OUT OF THE PARADE! It has become a parade of parents and you can't see the children! This is for them and we are fully staffed and equipped to take care of them. Only parents with sweatshirts who have signed up will assist.
- November 30th, 2009 - Rainbow City Tree Lighting 6:00pm - Performers will be announced. Other classes will meet as scheduled.
- December 7th, 2009 - Gadsden Christmas Parade! - All students will ride on floats this year!!! Time to be announced. Parade is from the courthouse in downtown Gadsden to 1st Street and end on Walnut Street. We NEED helpers to donate time and items for the floats. Please contact Dana Gray at bryangray@bellsouth.net or 256-892-7940.
- December 13th, 2009 - Sunday 2pm - Christmas performances in the Gadsden Mall. Performers will be announced.
- Week of December 14th-18th - This will be our Christmas Party Week!!! The last half of each class will be for the students to have a party. Parents are ENCOURAGED to get together and organize whatever they want to bring. We will have "GOODIES" for them as well. No ice or cups please...juices only.
- December 21st, 2009 - The studio will be closed for the Christmas Holidays!!! Classes resume on January 4th, 2010. Our sincere wishes for you and yours to have a peaceful and blessed Christmas season.
We Are Thankful For You!
The week of November 16th-19th will be parent appreciation week. We are inviting all parents to come in for the 2nd half of class to watch and let us Thank You for allowing us to share your precious children. (no matter how old they are!!)
COSTUME DEPOSIT
Your 1st costume deposit is now PAST DUE!!! Anyone not paying their costume deposit by November 10 will NOT have a costume ordered and therefore will not be able to participate in our year end production/recital without one!!
THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS
The studio will be closed November 23rd -27th for the Thanksgiving Holidays/Fall Break. Classes will resume on Monday Nov. 30th. We want to wish all of our Strut families a very blessed holiday!
IMPORTANT NEWS
Do you have your Strut, USA sweatshirt??? No one can do Christmas performances or parades without a sweatshirt!!(Parents are encouraged to purchase one so you can assist with children in functions. No parent can walk in the parades, etc. without a sweatshirt.) If any former student or parent has a gently used sweatshirt, bring it in with your name & amount on it to pass on! Please let us know if your star already has a sweatshirt because we will be sending home red skirts to be worn with them. No skirts will be sent home to those who do not have or did not order a sweatshirt. Their skirts are to be returned after the holidays or purchased for $20.00.
OUR CHRISTMAS CHARITY
Each year Strut, USA adopts a family for Christmas. Instead of giving gifts during class parties, we encourage you to bring gifts for the adopted family or for our charity in general. Some suggested gifts UNWRAPPED are: Blankets, PJ's, Barbies, Games, Baby Toys, Toiletry items, etc. We will have donation boxes set up through out the studio.
